What makes DermLab and Ana-Eli special? :

The DermLab was born from more than 15 years of working directly with skin and seeing both the possibilities and limitations of professional skincare. Over the years, I worked with many products that promised excellent results, but I often found that results could vary or plateau, while the ongoing cost of maintaining a professional skincare regimen could become difficult for some clients to sustain.

I wanted to create something different: highly efficacious, science-led skincare that clients could realistically afford to use consistently, while developing products with the needs of Caribbean skin and our tropical climate in mind.

Today, The DermLab brings cosmetic science and medical aesthetics together under one roof. Our skincare brand, Ana-Eli, is formulated and manufactured in-house. This gives me direct involvement throughout the process, from formulation and product development through to manufacturing, while allowing my years of experience working directly with clients and their skin concerns to inform the products I create.

Founder, Medical Aesthetician & Formulation Chemist

I am the founder of The DermLab and creator of Ana-Eli. My role spans both the clinical and laboratory sides of the business, from providing advanced aesthetic treatments and working directly with clients and their skin concerns to researching, formulating, developing and manufacturing our cosmetic products.
 

How have your studies helped progress:

My studies with the Institute of Personal Care Science gave me the scientific and practical formulation knowledge to turn my vision into something tangible. After years of working directly with skin, I knew what I wanted from the products I used professionally, but I wanted to understand formulation at a much deeper level; how ingredients function, how products are developed, and how to formulate with efficacy, safety and the end user in mind.

My studies gave me the foundation to move beyond simply working with finished skincare products to developing my own formulations from the ground up. That ultimately led to the laboratory side of The DermLab and the development of Ana-Eli, where I now formulate and manufacture our products.

Today, I am able to combine more than 15 years of clinical experience as a Medical Aesthetician with my work as a Formulation Chemist, allowing each discipline to inform the other.
