What makes Hadley Co. special:

Hadley Co. provides copywriting services to support new and established beauty brands and businesses. Our work values creativity over cliché, fact over fantasy, and clarity over confusion.

As someone contributing to the beauty industry, I encourage Hadley Co. clients to use words cleverly, sincerely, and responsibly. This is to promote more honest and thoughtful communication in the beauty industry, to better serve consumers. I’ve worked in print journalism, digital media, public relations, and eCommerce content roles, with a focus on beauty. This experience means I bring a cross-functional perspective to every client and project.

Copywriting for beauty products requires thorough research, thoughtful word choices, and a knack for understanding local and global beauty insights. So, differing from do-it-all agencies or content creators, I stick to what I really know and love: beauty and copywriting! Most all-rounder copywriters/’generalists‘, digital agencies, or content marketers are capable of writing well. But they may not be able to provide insightful solutions based on beauty industry experience. (Hint: If they use ‘hydrates’ and ‘moisturises’ interchangeably, they’re not the best person for the job.)

Your role/part:

Beauty copywriter

How have your studies helped progress:

I now hold a Certificate in Cosmetic Labels and Claims from the IPCS. This small but significant change means we’ve upgraded from a beauty copywriter to a certified beauty copywriter. This certification aligns with my broader purpose of improving communication in the beauty industry.

It’s also enhancing my existing offering: copywriting and editing services for beauty brands. I completed this certification because I’m obsessed with beauty communication, but I’ve also done it to support clients by reviewing and editing existing claims, copywriting new claims for NPDs and promotions, and offering consultation about regulations that relate to a brand’s claims and promotions.
