Requirements:

Cosmetic chemist internships are available for graduates and near graduates of our Diploma of Personal Care Formulation, Certificate in Advanced Cosmetic Science and Certificate in Advanced Hair Formulations. To apply for these internships you must have completed or be currently enrolled in one of these programs with IPCS, and at least up to module 2 of your studies.

About the role:

These internships will not only give you real world work experience, they will also help boost your resume when applying for jobs. You will be able to work on all types of personal care and home products and learn from a highly experienced and patient R&D Chemist. Their lab is well equipped and based in each country, and can accommodate up to 3 interns at a time.

The role is unpaid but offers a unique opportunity to gain experience, with references, and help you land your dream job formulating with a company. Your commitment would be 1-2 half or full days per week over 1-3 months or to suit your specific circumstances. Example rosters could include:

1 day per week for 12 weeks
1-2 days per week for 8 weeks
4 weeks full time – Mon – Thurs

They regularly work on face masks, creams, lotions, shampoo and conditioner bars, hair masks, liquid shampoo, conditioner, body wash and face serums as well as home care formulations.

The interns will get:

Hands on bench work experience
Formulation creation based on trends in the market
Familiarization of raw materials – touch and feel
Work with both natural and synthetic materials
Exposure to regulatory affairs – AICIS, ASEAN & local regulations, how to read SDS, specs etc
References on completion of 4 weeks full time or 8 weeks part time
With our network in US/AUS/NZ/ASEAN region we could also help with job placement.
We will supply lab coat, safety glasses however closed in shoes must be worn, hair tied back and long pants.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic graduate from a cosmetic course to join our team as a Development Chemist Intern.

This role offers an invaluable experience of working alongside our senior development chemist and gaining hands-on exposure to the world of cosmetic product formulation and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the senior development chemist in all laboratory tasks and operations.
Participate in the development work of a diverse range of cosmetic products.
Understand and assist in process chemistry and up-scaling projects.
Independently run batches and troubleshoot issues when needed.
Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure the quality and efficacy of products.
Maintain laboratory safety standards and protocols.

VICTORIA - AUSTRALIA

We are a Personal Care Contract Manufacturer, creating tailor-made personal care products to meet our customer’s needs.

About the role:

The role is unpaid but offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in formulating cleansers, shampoos, face creams and masks, serums, conditioners, gels, and other personal care products. Your commitment would be 1-2 half or full days per week over 1-3 months or to suit your specific circumstances. Example rosters could include:

The intern will get:

Working closely with the Senior Chemist to ensure product quality.
Report to other members of the team regarding operations
Testing of Finished Products and Preparations of testing reports
Ability to perform instrument calibration
Understanding of QC Testing requirements
Exposure to regulatory affairs – AICIS, ASEAN & local regulations, how to read SDS, specs etc
References on completion of 4 weeks full time or 8 weeks part time
Maintain laboratory safety standards and protocols.

Sound Literacy and numeracy skills.
Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent computer literacy
An outgoing "can do" personality with a flexible and collaborative approach to work
Physically fit (this position can include heavy lifting, bending, and carrying)
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
