Sourcing and Quality Assurance Officer - Beauty Industry

  • Source both domestically and internationally – primarily packaging, beauty bags, promotional items, beauty tools and cosmetic products
  • Develop and conduct full Quality Control processes with overseas and local suppliers by communicating with Operations to book quality control with suppliers once purchase orders are made and perform quality checks once goods are delivered
  • Interpret certification processes requirements (such as organic and vegan certification) and coordinate documentation and steps for acquisition of such certifications
  • Plan and request jobs to ensure timely delivery of quotes, samples and co ordination of final product to meet marketing deadlines
  • Prepare regular reports for Product Development Manager detailing progress of sourcing activities whilst clearly communicating status and suppliers specifications to all relevant internal stakeholders
  • Effectively negotiate the best purchase value with suppliers, ensuring final request maximises product specification criteria at the best possible price
  • Recommend contract terms based on negotiations with supplier
  • Prepare & maintain purchasing records, costing reports & price lists

Summary of duties:

  • Conduct assessments and review of new and alternate raw materials.

QA Chemist Fulltime

The  Quality Assurance chemist is responsible for:

Chemical, instrumental, microbial and physical analysis of various materials used and generated from all phases of manufacturing or other handling process, determining if those meets the standards or requirements, with the goal of clearing conforming products for approval and Trouble shooting in case of non-conforming bulk solutions. QA chemists employ a variety of methods that can vary, but generally require basic lab-work skills and thorough understanding of chemical testing equipment and processes. This role requires excellent knowledge of current GMP requirements with a large focus on OGSM, owning, executing, reviewing and reporting of process documents for BV Laboratory and compounding Operations.


  • Degree in Science, preferably in chemistry or chemistry related disciplines

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive supervised product testing, including stability testing
  • Running the stability program - checking all samples in each incubator every week, taking the pH & viscosity and documenting all results in appropriate spreadsheets.
  • Maintaining stocks of all ingredients in the lab and ordering more ingredient samples & lab equipment when needed
  • To perform experiments / tests and documenting results

This person is responsible for the general organisation and co-ordination of quality assurance in the personal care areas, in line with ISO 22716 GMP standards, including stock and inventory control.
